Introducing: Cellular Respiration

Cellular respiration and steps of the electron transport chain (ETC), allow animal and plant cells to produce usable energy. This section provides an animation that covers the basic stages in the ETC.

To view the VRML animation, you need to have a VRML plug-in for your browser. We are currently using CosmoPlayer. This is a free plug-in developed by Cosmosoftware. The following URL (http://vcell.ndsu.edu/software.htm) will connect you to the a VCell site where you can get the software and instructions on how it should be installed. Once the software is installed you can return here and view the animations.

NOTE: The power of VRML is that you can get close to the action. Fly up to a section of the animation to see what is happening. We have incorporated a lot of detail to help the learning process.
